More poetry

Hey everybody, here’s some more! #4 is a pretty lighthearted ditty about the joys of coffee. #5 is an imagist poem about a bridge. #6 is called a cinquain, which has 5 lines. The first line has 2 syllables, then 4, then 6, then 8, finally two again.

NaPoWriMo 2016 #2 and #3

Thirty separate blog posts of poems might get to be a little much, so I’m combining a few days and updating you all at intervals. I’d love to know which of these upcoming poems you like! It would inspire me to make some revisions and really get them polished. In the spirit of NaNoWriMo, all these poems are minimally planned first drafts 🙂

National Poetry Month

As is typical, there are a lot of writing endeavors that excite me and I find eventually I have no inspiration to finish.  I just found out about NaPoWriMo.net and their annual April challenge, and I’m eager to start. Whether I finish is another matter. I’m not terribly concerned, as I’m also using April for Camp NaNoWriMo in order to do some revisions on my draft of a novel. Anyway, I wrote a Lune poem today on the 1st, following the prompt on their site. It’s a 5-3-5 syllabic structure. Hope you enjoy.
